Malaka Spice .. and all things nice!

Does clubbing feel too 'mainstream' and do you wish to sober down? Well then a mug of frothy beer in a modern-day dining & bar, awaits you with open arms !

Originating from Pune and named after a Malaysian state, 'Malaka Spice' has embraced the 'explorers' among the youth, who inspired them to create this shack-like theme prevalent across their restaurants.  All the more, if you happen to be a travel enthusiast and fancy the splashing waters of the sea with the beach sand at your feet, Malaka Spice awaits you at Goa - with their delectable setting and their heartening decor.

As a brand, Malaka Spice has not only positioned itself as the flag bearer of 'originality' in terms of food and taste, but has given a whole new flavour to the concept by adopting 'art' as a dimension, almost persuading creative thinkers & artists to frequent their outlets. Quite admired for their 'Al fresco' dining with the exemplary outdoor appeal, the brand has presented a very indigenous assortment of Pan- Asian cuisine - including Malaysian, Japanese, Vietnamese and Thai!

When I walked the streets of Koregaon Park, Pune - Malaka Spice would enchant me with its fervour! The outdoor decor of Malaka, inspired by the concept of a goan beach shack has raw and woody bamboos in the setting , radiant umbrellas floating in the air and sparkling-baloon lights covering the ceiling! To add to the cheer, the shack and the tables are set amidst the finest crafts of the 'avant-garde'  - none other than their collection from the fine Malaka Gallery! The indoor setting at Malaka Spice on the other hand, has a hint of amicable taste while still maintaining the theme of their decor.

Extremely innovative with their dishes - the Chef De Cuisine at Malaka, pans out the most luscious ones, thus offering a wide range on their menu! From the most authentic  preparations to street food delights . . and a buffet to top it all, they have ensured a complete satiating experience to their indulging guests.

Some of my favourites from their menu are their sea-food preparations including Prawn Satay,  Prawn Tempura - which are presented tender and warm, tossed in just the right spices! Their Thai Mutton Chops are sort of peppery on the palate and ones to die for. The Chicken Dumplings (momos) are presented in style, enclosed in a fancy bamboo basket - are also a hit here and highly recommended!

And of course, they  have expert bartenders and mixologists fixing drinks - presented to you in the most lucrative style. Besides, the willing servers at Malaka Spice are a warm and passionate bunch, who take charge of the place and quite effortlessly - run the thrilling show!

So, if you're in 'pursuit of happiness' and an explorer in these towns , do pay them a visit and enjoy their happy hours!
