The Souled Store - for the pop culture soul!
Don't you often go on a nostalgia trip getting linked back to your favourite and fictional, comic characters? From Archies to Marvel, Tintin or Cha-cha Chowdhry to even Tinkle.. haven't you got a favourite in them all?
I bet you got the thrills growing up reading 'Superman' or other superhero comic strips with of course their confused sense of dressing (LOL), but the vigour and strength of a superhero!To many of us, the best memories of our childhood often evoke us to times of sitting back and relishing those 'superhero comics'. .The comics that have the most fictitious and burly yet the very real superheroes, brought to life!
Haven't you always waited in anticipation, for the release of sequels with Batman's return, a Superman against another, a Gollum's 'precious' ring, a Spiderman against Doc Ock, a Thor for his weilding hammer .. or for one of the latest characters 'Groot' from Guardians of the Galaxy .. for simply his one punch-line that takes you through an entire movie flashback?
Well, while these 'fictional' characters are so undeniably 'marvelled' at by all, there is no-doubt they are quite largely taking this super-brilliant generation by storm! And what possibly on earth could be a better idea (of course besides Comic Con), to bring these characters to life? Banana Chips by Food Bucket .. A virtual trip to God's own country!
Don’t we all have that one-of-a-kind and nostalgic tale, which revolves around our childhood? The tale that strikes a chord each time we unfold those vivid and fond memories? Just as how the memory of ‘paper boats’ during monsoons or that of our adventurous ‘summer vacations’ at Grandma’s, is close to our hearts and connects one with another – here is one such childhood memory that remains close to a young bunch of friends in Pune.
Vijay, Sanjay and Akshay often had the chance to bond together and they would do so over their Banana-chip ‘recreation sessions’. This amalgamation of the lip smacking flavours, deep-fried slices of banana; takes you on a virtual trip to ‘God’s own country’. With their splendid make and their interesting packaging the banana chips seem to have been taken to a whole new level.
As the new snack introduced in the market, these chips are a rare specialty, wrapped and presented as a tea time tid-bit! They have proved to be the ultimate fantasy for all palates, all ages and all leagues – with their varying flavours and emotional connect with each one’s childhood tale.

Malaka Spice .. and all things nice!

To add to the cheer, the shack and the tables are set amidst the finest crafts of the 'avant-garde' - none other than their collection from the fine Malaka Gallery! The indoor setting at Malaka Spice on the other hand, has a hint of amicable taste while still maintaining the theme of their decor.
Extremely innovative with their dishes - the Chef De Cuisine at Malaka, pans out the most luscious ones, thus offering a wide range on their menu! From the most authentic preparations to street food delights . . and a buffet to top it all, they have ensured a complete satiating experience to their indulging guests.
Some of my favourites from their menu are their sea-food preparations including Prawn Satay, Prawn Tempura - which are presented tender and warm, tossed in just the right spices! Their Thai Mutton Chops are sort of peppery on the palate and ones to die for. The Chicken Dumplings (momos) are presented in style, enclosed in a fancy bamboo basket - are also a hit here and highly recommended!
And of course, they have expert bartenders and mixologists fixing drinks - presented to you in the most lucrative style. Besides, the willing servers at Malaka Spice are a warm and passionate bunch, who take charge of the place and quite effortlessly - run the thrilling show!
